WEBSITE PRIVACY POLICY AND COOKIE POLICY

1. PRIVACY PRACTICES

This privacy policy is intended to apply to any visitor to our website located in Canada, and explains what information we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, and the types of companies with whom we share it. Before you provide us with your email address or otherwise browse our website, you should read through this privacy policy completely and make sure that you are comfortable with our privacy practices.

2. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect both personal and non-personal information from you online.

For the purpose of this privacy policy, when we use the term “personal information” we mean information that can identify an individual directly or through reasonably available means. We typically collect such information by requesting that you provide us with an email address to receive information about our products and services. The term “non-personal information” means, of course, information that cannot identify an individual directly or through reasonably available means.

3. HOW DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION?

3.1 By asking
We may collect some information from you by asking that you provide it to us. For instance, we may ask you for your email address on our website or you may provide information about yourself by using the forms on our website to notify.

3.2 Cookie
Many sites use “cookies,” which are small text files that reside on your computer to identify you as a unique user. We may use cookies on our website to allow us to, among other things, measure activity and to personalize your experience. For instance, cookies may enable us to remember your preferences without requiring you to re-type a user name and password. If you choose, you can set your browser to reject cookies or you can manually delete individual or all of the cookies on your computer by following your browser’s help file directions. However, if your browser is set to reject cookies or you manually delete cookies, you may have some trouble accessing and using some of the pages and features that are currently on our website, or that we may put on our website in the future.

3.3 Web Beacons and Pixel Tags.
A web beacon is an electronic file on a web page that allows us to count and recognize users who have visited that page. Among other things, a web beacon can be used in HTML-formatted email to determine responses to our communications and measure their effectiveness – for instance, if you get an email from us and click on a link in that email to go to our website. You can generally avoid web beacons in email by turning off HTML display and displaying only the text portion of your email.
We may also use web beacons or pixel tags to compile tracking information reports regarding our website’s user demographics, website traffic patterns, and website purchases. We may then provide these reports to advertisers and others. For our own research purposes we may link tracking information with personal information voluntarily provided to us. Once such a link is made, all of the linked information is treated as personal information and will be used and disclosed only in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

3.4 Internet Protocol (IP) Address.
As you enter our websites, we capture and retain the IP address of the device you are using, such as a personal computer or a mobile device.

4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

Our primary purpose in collecting information about you is to provide you with products, services, and information that we think may be of interest to you. We may also decide to use information about you to track how you use our website. In addition, we may aggregate the information that you provide with the information that other users provide in order to conduct research, analysis, or studies for our own purposes (i.e., not related to providing you with specific products or services).

4.1 Interest Based Advertising.
We or third parties such as ad networks and other advertising companies may serve advertisements on our website and on other websites and social networking sites. We or those third parties may use cookies, tracer tags or web beacons to report certain information about your visits to our website and other websites, such as web pages you visit and your response to ads, in order to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, better understand our users and to deliver ads that are more relevant to you, both on and off our website. To learn more and to opt-out of having your information used by participating companies for online behavioural advertising purposes, please visit http://youradchoices.ca/choices.
Please note that if you choose to opt-out you must opt-out of each web browser on each computer, mobile device and tablet you use. If you opt-out of receiving interest-based ads, you will continue to receive advertising, but it will not be based on online behavioural information about you. We may also use services provided by third-party platforms, including social networking platforms, to serve you tailored ads. We do this by providing a hashed version of your email address or other information to the platform provider. To opt-out of this type of tailored advertising, please contact us as set out below under the heading “Unsubscribe”.

4.2  Analytics
We also use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.

5.1 Sharing Your Information with Service Providers.
We may share information with companies or individuals that provide us with services. These services may include, among other things, helping us to provide services that you request, to create or maintain our databases, to research and analyze the people who request products, services or information from us, to prepare and distribute communications, or to respond to inquiries. Any party with whom we share your personal information is required either contractually or by law to keep it confidential and not to disclose it without your consent and to only use such personal information as required for the services to be performed.

5.2 Law Enforcement and Legal Process.
We may disclose information to government and regulatory agencies to comply with a lawful summons, court order, subpoena, discovery request, fraud investigation, audit, regulatory examination or other valid court, government, or regulatory agency request.

5.3 Business Transition.
In the event that we, or any portion of our assets, are acquired, your information may be transferred to the acquiring company.

6. HOW WE SECURE INFORMATION

We use reasonable measures, no less than as required by law, to help keep information secure, and to help prevent it from becoming disclosed to individuals who are not described in this privacy policy. While we follow reasonable procedures to try to protect the information in our possession, no security system is perfect and we cannot promise that your information will remain secure in all circumstances.

7. INFORMATION TRANSFERRED OUTSIDE OF CANADA

We are based out of Europe and the United States.  As such, information provided to us may be transferred outside of Canada to our affiliates and service providers. You acknowledge and agree that, as a result, your information may be processed, used, stored or accessed in other jurisdictions and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.  For example, information may be disclosed in response to valid demands or requests from government authorities, courts, or law enforcement in other countries.
